Kill Kermit, vol 1?

Oooh…. “Quentin Tarantino will star alongside Kermit the Frog and the rest of Jim Henson’s Muppets in the new Muppet movie, which is based on The Wizard of Oz. Tarantino plays himself in the movie, and he will coach Kermit on how to act his part in the film. The film begins production in Canada next month. The part of the Wicked Witch of the West will be played by Miss Piggy (as if it could be played by anyone else).

Some of the other roles have been cast as follows: Kermit the Frog – Scarecrow, Great Gonzo – Tin Man, Fozzie Bear – Cowardly Lion, Ashanti – Dorothy, Queen Latifah – Auntie Em.”

Vikki and I, by chance managed to catch the Muppet TV film last year tha was tehir take on “It’s A Wonderful Life,” but by missing the start it took us a while watching it to twig what they were doing. I think it was Whoppie Goldberg watching them as God that finally had me thinking “Kermit’s going to try and find a bridge here.” And he did.

Eilidh will love this news as well. She’s really getting into The Muppet Show thanks to my DVD collection of 28 episodes, and although Kermit and Miss Piggy are easy to spot, she thinks Gonzo is a Penguin, and Fozzie is pronounced “Funny Bear.” Awww.
