Off I Go To America Again
Next Saturday morning sees me squeezed into a tin tube aeroplane again to fly over the Atlantic for the West Coast of America (flying American Airlines again naturally)… destination San Jose (and yes, I do know the way). I’m going over for the already mentioned on this blog PalmSource DevCon for reasons that will shortly become apparent. It should be interesting to contrast this with the Symbian Expos I’ve been at in London.
Readers with long memories will realise that I was at the PamSource Europe DevCon back in 2003 because it seemed a good idea at the time as well. Flights have proven interesting. I wanted to try and get a connection from Edinburgh this time to cut down on the travelling. Etech saw me spending one night in London on the way out, and added some twelve hours of travelling to get to Stanstead for a flight home. This time I’m going to do a little Heathrow to Edinburgh return flight either side of the Boeing 777 flight.
What’s weird (and why I’ll never understand airline booking systems) is that I’m not on a direct return flight. Right after DevCon I transfer down to San Diego for two days to catch a flight home from there. The result of that is a ticket that’s £250 cheaper, and a weekend on the beach writing up the articles from DevCon.
Also planning on meeting up with a few people (and surprising Russ, who’ll probably forget I’m coming) both in San Jose and San Diego. Now, what can I bring back that’ll sell well on Ebay.co.uk?

Ewan, Hope you have a Great time and think of all of us who are stuck in lousy air-conditioned drab offices! Looking forward to these great Beach-Side Articles!
