…if the public and yourself are so out of touch with each other in a democracy then maybe you shouldn’t be the leader? I’d like to point out two things. Firstly, your Government and the House of Commons is meant to be a representative of our opinion to Elizabeth Windsor. If we all shout “This is a bad idea” you’re supposed to listen. Secondly, if your MP’s were slavishly following public opinion, then your vote to go to war in Iraq would not have cleared the House of Commons and we might not be such a highly visible target.

I completely agree. His comment that those who don’t vote with him are out of touch with the British people wound me up big time.
Let’s see how in touch he is with the people’s opinion when he starts messing about with police forces…
