Infosync review the E-407, Sony’s answer to the Shuffle which is now up against the Nano. So what you need to know is this. It’s 1gig, which can hold up to 45 hours of music using Sony’s Atrac system, the battery life is 50 hours, and it’s effectily one Hi-MD minidisc but in flash.
The Minidisc That Wouldn’t Die.
Speaking of Minidisc, the new JVC Minidiscs have a rated battery life of over 300 (three hundred) hours. Yes you’re looking at the ATRAC compression again, but that 8 hours on the Nano looks a bit weeny now.

Soft launch as in no massive PR effort, just quietly “sneaking” a site up and letting it build up quietly.
