Definitly Coming to America with The Tech Conference Show in March
I’ve been working on some small bits and pieces over the last few months to make sure I had the option of taking The Tech Conference Show back to America in March this year (as I did last year) to cover a few conferences. This year I’m pretty much certain I’ll be in Austin, TX, covering SXSW Interactive, SXSW Film and SXSW Music (Media pass shennanigans are of course still under way), along with O’Reilly’s Emerging Technology in San Diego, CA.
Unlike last year, and given that I now have a laptop with a lot of audio editing power, I’m looking to move away from the ten minute vox pop interviews that have typically made up the Tech Conf shows previously, and move to a more magazine style show – more in tune with The Edinburgh Festival Fringe shows. So that means a little news round up every day, two good interviews, and given teh music festival, a bundle of unsigned bands to play out the show each day from SXSW (and unless Tim O’Reilly has a hidden career playing skiffle, I may well drop the music from ETech).
It also looks like there’ll be a crowd of podcasters and bloggers that I know at SXSW, so I’m busy putting together a posse of ‘DJ Crew’ to help with the live recording of the shows. If you’re around in Austin, and want to pop into the stuios and say hi, drop me an email (ewanspence@gmail.com).
And as last year, there are sponsorship opportunites if you want to get your product or service into the ears of the technological elite. Rate cards and listener breakdowns are available at the same address.
Finally, the dates. I’ll land in Austin at 9pm on the 8th March, and I’ll depart San Diego at 4.50pm on the 30th. Between SXSW finishing on the 18th, and ETech starting on the 26th I’m open to offers of other gigs, conferences, visits, and trips to In-n-Out burger bars!
