What Should I Do This September in the USA?
Right then, it’s time to do some planning (or, to put it another way, try to avoid the schedule of The Edinburgh Festival Fringe Podcast for another 24 hours…). One of the podcast events of the year is the third Portable and New Media Expo, which I should be attending this year. I know last year I questioned the value of the event as it was on a knife edge, but it’s a bit more clear cut this year, both in terms of my income and who’s going to be there. Hey, last year saw me sign Brian Ibbott to TPN – perhaps it’s your turn this year? (in which case have your people call my people)
No my question is what to do around the PME. If I’m hauling myself to the states, I need to rack up some meetings, personal appearances, conference coverage and general profile raising and business building.

So where should I be going?
So the above is where I am up to in working out what potentially is on (There’s also a visit to the [redacted] offices in San Francisco to discuss [redacted] that’s not shown on here). The PodCamp directly before PME is an obvious one (Lance and co, I’m so there!), and the buzz around TechCrunch20 makes it an interesting event both to see what Arrington and Calacanis put together, but also as it’s a great fit for a series of Tech Conference Podcasts.
Beyond that, the devil in me is eyeing up a few days at Fantastic Fest, but beyond that, I’ve no idea where events could take me. Suggestions of events, sofas and drinks welcome.

You gotta come out and have a mojito at the Half Moon Bay Ritz. Of course our new son is supposed to arrive around the time of TechCrunch 20, so who knows?
