The Podcast Network in 2007, Some Numbers For You
Cameron has posted the 2007 summary for The Podcast Network over on the G’Day World Blog. The big numbers you can all take away from it are as follows…
- Listeners: 5.5 million (5,411,993)
- Downloads: 7 million (6,991,269)
- Visits: 23 million (23,247,031)
- Pageviews: 70 million (69,920,808)
Of course it’s not all been plain sailing, and Cameron’s went into some detail on that, as well:
We started off the year with a re-design of the homepage and lots of fast growth. Around the middle of year our server admin quit and I had to put a stop to adding new shows. Then a couple of months later our webdev quit. For the last couple of months we’ve been getting by with favours from friends whenever we need IT support. So it’s been frustrating on lots of levels.
But we don’t have heavy hearts (just light kidneys, cf Neddie Seagoon). In all the talk recently of podcasts as tools, monetization, and some people feeling disillusioned on their personal projects (ahem, Mashable), here’s a nice spotlight on some nice news.
Onwards to 2008.
