My Expectations Veer Into Obscurity
Today’s single bullet comes from the Urban Dictionary…
Mevio: The act of renaming a company / business thinking that the new name will make up for fact the business model was either flawed or poorly executed.
That Web 2.0 company just laid-off 25% of their staff and now they are going to Mevio their name in hopes of bringing in new investors.
Me? I’m off to Woolies to pick up the Rock Mevio All In One Media Centre, but I’ll leave you with this idea (beyond the fact that it’s interesting anagram of Vimeo)
Names are for show, content makes the dough.
…As witnessed by Ron Bloom’s quote on Mashable that the company will be “[in] possible profitability by the end of this year.”

It does not help that podshow cut podcaster payments by 50% on one of the long running advertising deals. They are simply robbing the podcasters that are on the network.
I never new the original deal with GoDaddy, but the old holders of the deal are very pissed off about the change over. They opened it up to everyone so everyone gets $2. Kind of a small version of the G.W. economy enhancement program. They’ve done nothing for me. I had to personally go to them to get the contract and had to personally bring a $130,000,000 company to them as a sponsor that they ended up firing because they wanted more money from them.
I doubt they’ll be renewing my contract because I’ve been a bit vocal about this, but what do I care since they let me negotiate directly and I’m getting an even better deal than what they were paying podshow, I mean Mevio.
