Looking back on the second Edinburgh Twestival

With a final total of over £2625, there’s no doubt that the Edinburgh Twestival can be classed as a success. For a difficult second gig, following up the first Twestivals held in February was always going to be a tough challenge, but the team behind last Thursday’s event managed it with apparent ease. I say ease because I know from seeing the work that went on behind the scenes (and from organising similar events myself in a past life) that it’s not easy, and you always have the worry that you’ll fall flat on your face and not make anything for the charity.

Thankfully as I mentioned above the event raised a huge amount for Clic Sargent, Scotland’s leading children’s cancer charity, and I was more than happy to lend my Emcee skills to the event, both to introduce the bands, keep the schedule ticking over, and also to promote the raffle tickets and all the other events in the side-rooms. I think I just about got away with it!

I also think I got away with the ‘satellite link-up’ over to the Nashville Twestival, even though I think someone needs to explain to Dave Delaney that I couldn’t drink the beer he offered to the projection

Nashville Twestival All the winners of the raffle are online at the Edinburgh Twestival website, and any more news from the event will be there as well!

Till the third Twestival?
