See if you can spot the issue:
It’s a $100 handset showdown — CNET compares Apple’s iPhone 5C with Motorola and HTC’s own Mini versions of their flagships, as well as the Nokia Lumia 520.
That’s right, it’s the subsidy level. While all those handsets in the distorted US market are $99 plus the ongoing cost, SIM free the Nokia Lumia 520 is around $140, while the iPhone 5c is around $550. I guess a $400 price difference is a fair fight for CNET. What’s next, a $200 Ebay challenge with the PlayStation 4 duking out a ZX Spectrum?
