Get your TPN Rock in iTunes!

Here’s the button, go forth and subscribe to TPN Rock. And it looks like the iTunes halo has already started. Going into the “Music” section in the ITMS Podcast seciton (the icon, not the side list) and you’ll see that TPN Rock is now one of the Featured Music shows. It’s not quite on the front page strip yet, maybe that’s only a matter of time. But if you’ve not caught it yet, shame on you! From the comments I’m getting back TPN Rock #37 is the best yet.

TPN Rock Now Listed On iTunes

Yes it’s a small victory, but TPN Rock is finally listed. Eagle eyed Flickr watchers spotted the screenshot last week, and I’ve been waiting to see if the official ITMS URL would ever work. Unfortunatly not. So you’ll just have to go to the podcast store, search for TPN and then eyeball for TPN Rock (or search for TPN Rock directly – D’oh!). And yes I know you could all slam the direct feed into your copy of iTunes, but it would be nice to be in that “Top 100 Podcasts Subscribed To Today.” After all The Edinburgh Fringe Podcast

“Kevin [Marks], I Never Knew!” Says Adam Curry

Now that’s interesting. My previous post on The History of Podcasting, was always intended to drive the argument forward, beyond the Wikipedia editing. Remember, always try to contribute something to an argument. Looks like I did. Spotted this on the Adam Curry’s weblog, and excuse me if I post it in full… Wow, I stand corrected. Thanks to this posting [My previous post – Ewan] I was able to find this video of Kevin Marks demoing an applescript downloading mp3 enclosures straight to his ipod. I stand corrected. I never saw this demonstration and it shows a lot more of

Damage and Fallout: the Revisionist History of Podcasting

It’s a commonly held rule that ‘history is decided by the victor,’ and it seems that right now the history of podcasting is becoming a prime battleground, especially on it’s Wikipedia Page (and Digg the story). As you all know, there’s a number of viewpoints on the actual timeframe, who did what first, with whattool, and who asked who to do what. So why is this so important to get right? Because I actually think that we should have a neutral point of view on the entire podcasting phenomenon, because if we leave the interested parties to push their viewpoint

I’ll Be Appearing on BBC Radio Scotland’s Soundbiters

Just off the phone with BBC Radio Scotland – no they’ve not decided to syndicate TPN Rock (what do you think this is, American NPR?) – but they’re looking for panel members for Soundbiters and they’ve asked me if I would like to appear. “Well, there is a rider, so I’ll want some Irn-Bru and some Tunnocks Tea Cakes waiting for me.” As they’ve agreed to this, I’m there! From the listing page: Soundbiters (1/5). David Robertson with a topical quiz, asking people who’ve made the headlines about the headlines. I’ll be appearing in the “Podcasters” team alongside Mark Hunter

Podcasting Does Not Begin and End With PodShow

Little bit of a temper coming out of me this morning, mainly due to this article over at the San Francisco Bay Guardian, which discusses the nascent podcasting scene. After reading this, you’d think the only player in the podcasting market is the Curry / Bloom venture, PodShow. Now I know that a journalist is going to take the easiest route possible to a story. And I also know that PodShow needs to get a stupid amount of coverage to get listeners to get money so they can return the VC money they gained with a healthy return. Which means
