More games are downloaded to smartphones than applications (and IOS owners spend more time playing games than using other applications. This is news? Come on, everyone of my generation got a ZX Spectrum because of the educational stuff, but ended up perfecting their performance of a Quirkafleeg.
An interesting one here from Orange, which asks “if you have five minutes to spare, could you do some good?” Their latest application, “Do Some Good” does the asking and lets you fill in surveys, helping out charities in your local area, sharing ideas and generally being a jolly good person and helping out others in the world. Available for Android, iOS and Symbian via Orange’s dedicated site.
Just because there are lots of alternatives to the iPad at the point of sale, that doesn’t mean they are effective competition, it just means that box manufacturers have new boxes to sell. The question is whether the pubic will buy these new shiny toys instead of an iPad.
