Yes, a case can be made that the games coverage, the TV reviews, the showbiz pages are all things that fall into the ‘non-Scottish features and news’ content that the Trinity Mirror restructuring announcement talked of sharing with the Mirror papers and the People. But it’s not just the words that are being cut away, it’s the essence of the paper – the recognisable faces, the distinctive voices and tones that make the Record what it is. I’m delighted to say I’m teaming up with my old pal and Thumbcast co-host Craig McGill, who has very successfully carved a niche for himself in showing that digital PR and social media doesn’t need to be run by chancers charging three k a week just to run your Twitter account for you.
