TPN Rock’s Eurovision Rock-tack-ular

Now to bring you all the fun of Eurovision without the high camp, spandex, and push up bras (yes, I’m looking at you, Germany). Yes it’s the annual TPN Rock Eurovision Rock-tack-ular with six bands from around Europe, playing their song, in a rather veiled link to the Song Contest happening this week in Moscow. Iron Maiden on today’s TPN Rock

Now there’s a headline I’ve been looking to write for some time! Just to recap, tomorrow (April 21st) is Iron Maiden Day, where the band’s new film Flight 666 will be screening on roughly 400 digital screens around the world. It’s the largest opening day for a music documentary ever, and in most screens it’s a one day only experience. You’ll need to queue for the DVD and Blu-Ray disc available in the next few weeks to re-live the experience. So here’s a little 25 minute documentary on the film, with some words from Bruce Dickinson and Kevin Shirley, and

Football Manager Handheld reviewed on The PSP Show

Over on the weekly PSP show podcast, I’ve taken a look at Football Manager Handheld 2009 for Sony’s Playstation Portable. Short review, any game that can accurately simulate the misery of managing Cowdenbeath, and then gives me the same rush that a no score draw at home in Central Park, must be doing something right! I’m back in Scotland now, after an amazing three weeks, part of which included SXSW Music. Bouncing around the bars, clubs and stages of Austin has left (a) me with a stack of CD’s a mile high to listen to and (b) lots of great music to appear on TPN Rock over the next few weeks and months. So let’s get started with a SXSW Special Showcase? TPN Rock: The SXSW Music 2009 Special I Am Electric, by Angry vs The Bear (Angry vs The Bear on MySpace). Ones and Os, by Geoff Smith (www.thegeoffsmith.com). Green and Vinyl, by Ettie

SXSW Interactive Preview Podcast, with Hugh Forrest

Second preview for SXSW, this time looking at Interactive with Hugh Forrest. Recorded at 6am (UK time) and Midnight (Austin) I need to thank Hugh publicly for making the time to carry out the interview. Lots of ground to cover in this episode, including how late can the plans change; does panel picker promote diversity at SXSW interactive; deciding on the keynote speakers and inviting people back to speak again; the party scene; and the growth of SXSW.
