Apple, the iPhone 7, and assuming Taniyama-Shimura

There’s an Apple event next week, but anyone who follows tech news online knows that already. They have also read what Apple is announcing, even though Apple has confirmed absolutely nothing about the event. And the great thing about the tech reporting industry is that everyone is cool with that. I find it curious that this attitude follows one of the great ‘I hope this is right’ moments of 20th century mathematics. Hearts Are Not Breaking All Over The UK, It’s The Chain

As I just tweeted… @MikeChannell YES the BBC really did need to confirm they were using The Chain! Otherwise I Would Have Predicted a Riot While I might (might) have accepted after a few years the BBC using The Foo Fighters All My Life for any coverage of the return of Formula 1 to the Council Tax Telly Station, the news that they will be using Fleetwood Mac’s The Chain as the theme tune means they can cock everything else up… I’ll be happy.
